Maggie Hassan isn’t happy over another ad about her record of raising taxes
The RGA (Republican Governor’s Association) has put out a new ad that hits Maggie where it hurts, taxes. Hassan lives in the Principal’s home at Phillips Exeter Academy because her husband is thePrincipal. That’s all well and good except she doesn’t have to pay property taxes on that home. The ad claims that while Hassan raised taxes throughout her stint as a New Hampshire state legislator, she didn’t feel the same pain as others who actually pay property taxes. Hassan is claiming the ad is misleading and a personal attack as reported by Ben Leubsdorf in the Concord Monitor yesterday.
Taxes are a personal matter. Everyone gets hit with them in some shape or form andMaggie Hassan loves to raise them. Taxes affect the poor, working and middle classes the most. This fact doesn’t seem to bother Hassan because it really doesn’t affect her as much as the ‘little guy’ since she pays no property tax and is part of the top ‘1%’. Hassan has a very long track record of raising taxes on New Hampshire families. It’s part of her voting record. Hassan raised taxes and fees many times as a legislator. It’s simply a fact.
While the RGA ad does not explain why Hassan does not pay property taxes, the ad is factual by saying she doesn’t and by saying she raised them. The ad is factual by saying raising taxes doesn’t affect Hassan or her family as much as it does everyone else because she doesn’t have to pay those property taxes like everyone else (even renters pay this in the form of rent because property owners work this into the price of the rent). So Hassan can whine that this ad is misleading but it’s not. Hassan can whine that it’s a personal attack but it’s not. What is a personal attack isthe fact that Hassan will raise taxes. That affects everyone in New Hampshire but it affects those who can least afford it the most.

NH Democrats think women are helpless twits who need a nanny
It was bad enough Democrats paid for a fake ‘war on women’ rally a few months ago but now they are pushing their lies even further and treating women like they are completely stupid. In a column on October 15th, New Hampshire attorney and National Democratic Committee member Kathy Sullivan not only lied about issues but she actually makes women out to be helpless little sheep who need big strong ‘daddy’ government to take care of them. She also doesn’t seem to understand how insurance companies work or that Obamacare is indeed taking women’s health care decisions out of their control and putting it in the control of government. From the column:
The entire top of the ticket on the Republican side of the ballot would affect the ability of women to make their own medical decisions by allowing employers to remove contraceptive coverage from health insurance plans on religious grounds.
Apparently she doesn’t realize that even the far left Democrat Teddy Kennedy agreed that religious institutions shouldn’t be forced to provide something that is against their religion. Bill Clinton’s health care bill also included religious protections. It’s called ‘Freedom of Religion’ and one of the reasons this country was founded. Apparently Sullivan doesn’t believe in Constitutional rights.
In addition, gubernatorial candidate Ovide Lamontagne wants to defund Planned Parenthood. Mitt Romney has said he wants to get rid of Planned Parenthood. Defunding Planned Parenthood would make it more difficult for low-income women to access contraception, and also remove a source of preventive care for services such as cancer screenings.
Planned Parenthood doesn’t need the money. They make millions of dollars every year from insurance companies and through abortion services they provide. Planned Parenthood has almost$1 billion in assets alone with over $737 million in revenue. Romney simply wants to stop funding programs that don’t need the money as do the majority of Americans. There are many other clinics available to women that provide low-income women the same services other than abortion. Sullivan clearly thinks women are too stupid to know this. Why she wants to continue funding a program that victimizes young girls is reprehensible. For a party that is supposed to be ‘for women’, they certainly don’t show that with their support of Planned Parenthood. Of course, the lie about providing breast cancer screenings is just that, a lie.
Access to birth control benefits taxpayers and reduces abortions. According to an article by Reuters, unintended pregnancies lead to one million births each year, at a cost to taxpayers of $11 billion. In other words, not only are Guinta, Bass, Lamontagne and Romney promoting policies that allow employers to interfere with the right of the individual to make her own religious and moral decisions, they also are imposing an economic burden on taxpayers.
Interesting that Sullivan talks about women making their own decisions yet she is whining about how they need the government to make decisions for them. Employers have been choosing health coverage for years and still did up until Obamacare. Now employers are forced to purchase plans for which both they and their employees pay a much higher price. Government is making health care decisions for women. Remember when Obama’s Administration said that women under 50 didn’t need mammograms every year? Insurance companies and doctors told them to piss off. Women’s lives are saved thanks to mammograms yet Sullivan’s beloved Obama Administration is making health care decisions that will kill them.
Sullivan goes on to whine in the article that women need access to birth control and lies that Republicans want to stop access to it. Funny thing, women have access to birth control 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at most major stores and even small convenience stores across New Hampshire and the country. Women even have that silly option of not having sex if they don’t want to get pregnant. To Democrats, women seem to be little sheep incapable of taking care of themselves or actually making responsible decisions. While Sullivan talks about women making their own decisions, she’s pushing for government to make decisions for them, rather than discuss how much Obama’s economic policies have failed women.
How bad have Obama’s policies hurt women?
- More women have lost their jobs under Obama than in history.
- More women are in poverty under Obama than in decades.
- More women are on food stamps and welfare than in history under Obama.
If more women had jobs, as they will under Romney, they’d be able to afford the birth control that Sullivan and Democrats feel is so much more important than the economy.
Women should be angry that Democrats believe they are so completely ignorant and helpless that they cannot be held personally responsible for their own sexual reproduction. Women should be angry that Democrats are pushing birth control as the most important issue when the economy is crumbling and it is affecting women the most. Democrats should be ashamed of themselves that they treat women so disrespectfully. Women have worked for years to become independent and have earned equality. Democrats seek to destroy those gains by telling women they need to be dependent on the government. Democrats seek to hurt women’s equality by putting legislation into place like the Paycheck Fairness Act that would kill even more jobs for women. Women are not incapable little twits who need a Nanny (Maggie Hassan, Carol Shea-Porter or Anne Kuster) to make their decisions. It is 2012, women have ‘come a long way baby’ despite the efforts of Democrats to destroy their economic freedom with Obama’s failed economy.

Liberal Lies and Hysteria Try to tie Romney with Sensata Closure
The Twitterverse exploded tonight with rage over a company in Illinois called Sensata closing its doors and shipping its production to China. The big story isn’t that the company is closing but that Liberals are actually trying to blame Mitt Romney for it based on ridiculous lies being pushed by theSEIU. No shocker that the SEIU would sink this low but it doesn’t say much about Democrats that they are so easily led to believe outrageous accusations without bothering to do a quick search on the internet to discover the facts. The myths that are being perpetrated and facts are dissected below.
MYTH: Mitt Romney owns Sensata.
FACT: Mitt Romney has nothing to do with Sensata. Bain Capital Investors have a 51.8% share of Sensata stock.
FACT: Romney actually transferred what stocks he did own in Sensata to charities.
MYTH: Romney makes Bain business decisions.
FACT: Romney hasn’t made business decisions at Bain for many years now. He and his wife Ann have a blind trust with Bain which means they have zero clue where their money is invested.
FACT: The key people running Bain Capital Investors are Joshua Bekenstein, John Connaughton, Paul Edgerly, Mark Nunnelly, Stephen Pagliuca, Jordan Hitch and Matthew Levin. It seems that the majority of these ‘key people’, who make decisions like closing Sensata, are Democrats who support Obama.
In 2008, Bekenstein gave over $200,000 to help Democrats get elected. He and his wife are listed as one of the Top Individual Contributors on OpenSecrets.org.
In 2010, Stephen Pagliuca ran against Martha Coakley in the Democratic primary for the special Senate seat election, the election that Scott Brown won.
In 2008, Jordan Hitch gave money to both the Obama campaign and to the Romney campaign.
In 2008, Mark Nunnelly gave thousands of dollars to Democratic candidates across the country, including Harry Reid.
In 2012, it was rumored that Matt Levin may speak at the Democratic National Convention. He also donates frequently to Democrats.
MYTH: Romney gets a tax break from outsourcing jobs to China
FACT: Romney doesn’t own Sensata and the ‘tax break’ for outsourcing jobs itself is a myth. It’s a minor moving deduction and it’s miniscule.
MYTH: Romney can do anything to stop Bain or Sensata from making business decisions like shipping 170 jobs to China.
FACT: Romney cannot alter the decisions made by the people are actually running these businesses. He has zero influence on what these people choose to do with their business or employees.
MYTH: Sensata replaced the American flag with the Chinese flag at their plant in Illinois.
FACT: This lie is being perpetrated by people like left wing hacks at DailyKos. The photo they use as ‘proof’ is actually of the Sensata plant in China.
This ‘Bainport’ protest and hysteria is nothing but astroturf by the SEIU and the Occupy ‘rape tent’ crowd. While it is unfortunate that people will be losing their jobs, neither the SEIU, Occupiers or Democrats care anything about them. This is merely a ploy to paint Romney as some evil businessman who ships American jobs to China. What’s more amusing is that Obama has actually shipped jobs overseas with taxpayer funded stimulus money but there’s no protest over that from the SEIU.
It’s understandable for the employees to be upset but they are being used by Democrats as political pawns and it’s actually pretty reprehensible. If they want to direct their anger at Bain, they should direct it to the Democrats who are running it now. Of course, that wouldn’t really fit into the left wing agenda of lies and deceit now would it? Apparently the left will stop at nothing to defeat Romney but using Americans who are actually going to feel pain from this closure is egregious. Using these poor people as political pawns and lying to them shows the lack of character and morals of Democrats. It’s expected that unions and their Democrat lackeys will lie about Romney but it’s not fair to these workers or voters.

Despicable Democrat ad lies to seniors to scare them for votes
In an ad just released by the DCCC(Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee) for far left wing candidate Ann Kuster (NH Congressional District 2),Democrats stoop to an all knew low with their lies about Paul Ryan’s Medicare plan. In the video, they claim that people who have worked hard and paid into Medicare are going to lose it and Charlie Bass (Republican candidate in NH Congressional District 2) voted for it. Every single person represented in the video is obviously elderly. Ryan’s plan does not affect anyone over 55 and it isn’t going to end Medicare either.
As if Democrats can’t sink any lower, they now sink to elder abuse, because there is nothing like fear mongering the elderly. This ad is egregious and Democrats should be ashamed of themselves. If they want to disagree with Ryan’s plan, feel free, that is what political parties do, but do not scare an entire segment of the country because you so desperately want to win an election. It’s reprehensible and Kuster spreads the same lies. Not only is this ad despicable but it shows the lack of respect Democrats have for seniors. Apparently Democrats believe that anyone 55 and older must be too stupid to read or actually look into legislation that may affect their lives.
Kuster pretends to care about seniors. If she she truly does, she’ll demand the DCCC take this false ad down because it is despicable. If she doesn’t, it proves yet again that she will do whatever Democrats tell her rather than what her constituents want. Democrats have already proven they are desperate during this election cycle but scaring senors to gain votes is beyond disgusting.

Kennedy will never understand working or middle class struggles
In another debate held yesterday for theMassachusetts Congressional District 4 seat,Sean Bielat (Republican) and Joe Kennedy III(Democrat) met to discuss the issues. The debate was only an hour but it was crystal clear at the end the differences between the candidates. Kennedy believes that government is the solution and Bielat believes that people are the solution. Kennedy will raise taxes and grow government while Bielat will shrink government and keep taxes low. Those are pretty typical of Democrat vs. Republican issues. Democrats have a history of growing government and raising taxes while Republicans have a history (well normally) of keeping government small and taxes low.
What really struck a chord was when one of the panel members brought up the stark difference between Kennedy and Bielat when it comes to their financial disclosures. Kennedy is a multi-millionaire while Bielat has a mountain of student loan debt. It’s nice that Kennedy’s family left him millions of dollars; most families would love to have the privilege of doing that. It’s great that both Bielat and his wife have furthered their education to further the well-being of themselves and their family; many people continue their education even with the astronomical costs of higher education these days.
Kennedy’s resume is extremely short. He has only ever held a ‘real job’ for 2.5 years and that was in the public sector. He’s never worked one day in the private sector. Kennedy touts his stint in the Peace Corps in a foreign country but why didn’t he join an organization in the United States and help Americans? Kennedy has never worried a day in his life how he will pay the rent, the mortgage, the oil bill or if he’ll have enough money to put food on the table. Kennedy has never had to choose between paying the electric bill and paying the car payment. As much as he likes to pretend he is ‘for the working man’, he has no clue the struggles of any working men or women.
Bielat is part of the middle class. Not only is he a Marine Reservist fighting for the United States but he wants to continue fighting for Americans in Congress. Bielat understands the struggles of working men and women because he is one of them. He understands how difficult times are right now and knows what it will take to truly change the economic environment from the cliff Obama and Democrats have put it on. Bielat’s years of experience as a leader in the private sector show that he knows what drives business and what a good economy means for families across the country and in his district.
Bielat is the only candidate in the 4th Congressional District who will fight for the working and middle classes. There are already too many ‘Kennedy types’ in Congress – those who are multi-millionaires and make laws increasing the size of government and raising taxes without realizing the massive ramifications that ideology has on the very people they claim to represent. If Kennedy’s last name was Smith, he wouldn’t even be in this race.

Elizabeth Warren thinks Massachusetts women are stupid
In another debate last night for theMassachusetts Senate seat up for grabs this year, Scott Brown (Republican Incumbent) met with Elizabeth Warren (Democrat challenger) to discuss the issues. Warren continued her usual lies but again pushed her egregious lies about Brown’s ‘votes against women’ (recall the Senator is married with two daughters). Warren has a very long historyof fraud and lying but her ridiculous accusations that Brown is against his wife and daughters are just that, ridiculous. What’s even worse is that Warren obviously thinks women in Massachusetts are stupid because if any woman reads the two bills she’s referring to below, they’d see that she’s outright lying. Maybe it’s because Warren isn’t actually from Massachusetts. Maybe Warren thinks she’s above having to tell the truth because she’s a professor at Harvard. She hasn’t been honest throughout her campaign and maybe living in the ‘ivory towers’ for so long have finally eaten away at her brain.
These points were made in a video that Warren released for fundraising after the debate but they have all been lies debunked previously and often. Since Warren has a very long record of lying, it’s not surprising but it’s embarrassing that she believe women are so stupid:
Warren: Scott Brown had exactly one changed to vote equal pay for equal work and he voted no.
Warren is referring to the Paycheck Fairness Act which has absolutely nothing to do with equal pay. The Equal Pay Act was voted into law in the 1960s and has remained intact since then. The Paycheck Fairness Act is about lawsuits and forcing employers to allow people to discuss their pay at work, something that would create havoc in the workplace for all employees, never mind women. The Act would necessarily hurt women in the workforce but that doesn’t stop Warren from lying about it. Not only would it hurt women but it would hurt business and the economy but vulture lawyers like Warren would sure have a field day. (See Warren’s work against women with Dow Chemical)
Warren: He had exactly one chance to vote for insurance coverage for birth control and other preventative services for women, he voted no.
Amusing that Warren is referring to the Blunt Amendment that Teddy Kennedy also agreed withthat doesn’t force religious employers to provide any type of services that are against their religious beliefs – i.e., birth control and abortion. Apparently Warren wants to force Catholic institutions to now pay for abortions. Remember also that women can get birth control for around$9 a month at their local pharmacies. Of course, Warren believes women are too stupid to take care of themselves so big Daddy government has to step on the religious rights of institutions to make sure they take care of women.
Warren: He had one chance to vote for a pro-choice woman from Massachusetts to the United States Supreme Court and he voted no.
This is where Warren really shows she is out of her mind. She is referring to Elena Kagan who is now on the Supreme Court who had zero experience as a justice, ever. That’s right; Warren believes being pro-choice is a qualification for getting nominated to the Supreme Court. Forget that Kagan never sat one day in a court room as a judge; forget that Kagan never decided any civil or criminal cases as a justice; forget that Kagan had pretty much zero real world law experience; Warren believes women are so incredibly stupid that they’d vote for a woman to be in the highest judicial position in the United States just because she is pro-choice.

Kuster Parrots Debunked Talking points and Lies
The final debate in WBIN’s series was held last night between Ann Kuster (Democrat) and Charles Bas (Republican Incumbent) running for New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District. Again the panel questions were excellent as well as the moderator. Kuster behaved in a far better manner than at a previous debate where she actually took the microphone from Bass during his closing statement. Apparently being on live television forced Kuster to act like an adult rather than a petulant child – something that she’s become known for throughout New Hampshire. Each candidate touted their stances on the issues and fired back at one another when comments were made as is par for the course in debates; however, Kuster seemed to really just parrot Democratic talking points and lies rather than think for herself. A few of the highlights are below.
- Kuster is for a single payer government controlled healthcare plan but lied during the debate and said she meant ‘via insurance companies’. She apparently hasn’t read Obamacare because she didn’t seem to understand that there are many new taxes in the bill that will necessarily hurt the working and middle classes.
- Of course Kuster parroted the same $6,400 Medicare lie that all Democrats seem to be repeating. It’s a lie, it’s been debunked and it shows she doesn’t bother doing her research and simply believes whatever Obama and company tell her.
- Kuster also tried to frame Bass as a ‘party line’ voter except his record proves that he doesn’t vote with Republicans all of the time. Bass has voted along with Democrats on many bi-partisan bills in Congress. Apparently Kuster ignores his voting record when it doesn’t agree with the false picture she’s trying to present.
- Kuster’s biggest whopper of the night that she kept repeating over and over that it was thanks to the Tea Party and Republicans that nothing has gotten done in Congress. In reality, the House has gotten many bills passed in a bi-partisan manner but it’s Senate Majority Leader Democrat Harry Reid who refuses to even bring these bills to a vote. These bills include many job creating bills. Senate Democrats simply don’t want any bills to pass that will help the economy. In fact, the most bi-partisan votes in Congress since Obama’s election have been against Obama’s far left wing agenda. Kuster can keep repeating this lie over and over but it will never make it true. It’s just another Democrat talking point.
- Another ridiculous parrot by Kuster is the ‘huge tax incentive for companies who ship jobs overseas’. Americans have heard this from Obama and many Democrats who apparently know nothing about business. The truth is that it is only a minor tax deduction for moving costs . It would only bring in $168 million over 10 years if taken away. There are far more serious ramifications for overseas operations but those don’t seem to fit into the talking points rhetoric of Democrats, especially since under Obama the United States now has the highest corporate tax rate in the world.

Maggie Hassan’s ‘Vision’ for New Hampshire Doesn’t Make Any Sense
Last night WBIN hosted the first of its series of debates this week with the gubernatorial candidates for New Hampshire – Maggie Hassan (Democrat) and Ovide Lamontagne(Republican). With a great moderator and panel, it offered more insight as to what the candidates see as their view for the future of New Hampshire. Much different than just going to the candidates’ websites, the debate offered a stark contrast between how Hassan and Lamontagne differ on their vision. It was clear that Maggie Hassan has the same vision for New Hampshire that she did while she was a State Senator – to grow government and raise taxes.
Maggie Hassan doesn’t seem to understand that you cannot continue to raise taxes and fees on New Hampshire residents who are still hurting from the effects of Obama’s economy, yet that is her vision. When most states are trying to get their fiscal houses in order, Hassan continues to talk about growing the size of government, which will necessarily cause an increase in fees or taxes or the state debt. No matter how Hassan decides to pay for her growth in the size of New Hampshire’s state government, it is the taxpayers who will suffer the consequences. At a time when residents can barely afford the outrageous gas prices and continually rising food prices, Maggie Hassan will hit them with even more rising fees and taxes.
Since Hassan has a record of hiking taxes and fees, it’s clear that she will continue in her quest to extract as much money as possible out of New Hampshire to pay for her big government vision (her taxes and fees affect the poor, working and middle classes the most). Not only is this the opposite of what the majority of people in the Granite State believe (Live Free or Die isn’t just a motto, it’s a way of life), but it just doesn’t make sense. Below are just a few of the things from Hassan’s record as a state legislature (she was voted out in 2010):
She voted for Cap & Trade or RGGI which is a Wall Street scam that cost residents more and does absolutely nothing for the environment.
Voted to raise taxes and fees by hundreds of millions of dollars (she hasn’t met a fee or tax increase she doesn’t love but will continually claim to be against raising sales tax and income tax).
She voted against New Hampshire residents’ protecting themselves.
Hassan is against worker freedom and is for forced unionism. She believes that workers should be forced to pay union fees even if they don’t want anything to do with the union. She is adamantly against Right-to-Work. She even lied about Right-to-Work states in the debate last night. Forced union states have higher overall taxes, more debt and less spending power per worker. Of course, since Hassan’s election is being bought by unions, it’s no surprise she feels this way.
It was quite clear from the debate that Hassan’s vision for New Hampshire is not what the majority of residents see as the ‘New Hampshire Way’. In a time when the state legislature has reigned in the debt that Hassan helped to ring up under Democratic Governor John Lynch, Hassan would come into office and turn back the clock to the big government, higher fees and taxes ways that have hurt New Hampshire. The Granite State can’t afford another Democratic free-for-all with their tax dollars. It just doesn’t make sense. Hassan appears to be yet another Massachusetts Liberal who wants to change New Hampshire into Mini-Massachusetts, to hell with ‘Live Free or Die’.
